Executive Committee
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is elected by the General Meetings. It consists of five to nine natural persons whose term of office is three years. Members of the Executive Committee can be re-elected. The Executive Committee may pass resolutions on all matters that are not reserved for the General Meetings by law or the Articles of Association. It conducts the business of the association unless it has delegated the management. It is currently composed as follows:
Committees of the Executive Committee
The Executive Committee works in various committees to prepare business and resolutions. Each committee is chaired by a member of the Executive Committee.
Claims Committee
Chair: Christine Dutoit-Räz
The Claims Committee is responsible for fundamental issues relating to claims settlement. It ensures the high quality of claims handling and compliance with the claims regulations by the representatives of NBI & NGF, and oversees the implementation of controlling and the review of claims.
Compensation Body Committee
Chair: Franziska Ravy-Widmer
The Compensation Body Committee is responsible for applications submitted to the Compensation Body due to a breach of the statutory obligations for proper claims settlement. It also addresses fundamental legal questions that arise for the Committee in connection with the operation of the Compensation Body.
Communications Committee
Chair: Martin Weber
The Communications Committee ensures the correct implementation of NBI & NGF’s communications strategy and advises the Executive Committee on all communication matters. It is responsible for the public image of the two associations and liaises with the press on matters of fundamental importance.
Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is responsible for maintaining contact between the two associations and the managing insurer. It addresses fundamental questions relating to the management agreement concluded between NBI & NGF and the managing insurer.
Finance & Insurance Technical Committee
Chair: Cédric Wiederkehr
The Finance & Insurance Technical Committee is responsible for all financial matters that do not fall within the remit of the Investment Committee. In particular, it sets the contributions that motor vehicle owners pay annually to the two associations. The Committee also addresses matters relevant to NBI & NGF in the field of insurance technology (e.g. the issuing of International Insurance Cards by insurers).
Investment Committee
Chair: Andreas Scherrer
The Investment Committee is responsible for the correct implementation of investment policy. It advises the Executive Committee on all investment matters and oversees the investment transactions carried out on behalf of the two associations. Its further responsibilities include liaising with the banks that work on behalf of NBI & NGF.
Legal & Compliance Committee
Chair: Kathrin Nabholz-Lattmann
The Legal & Compliance Committee addresses legal questions that do not fall within the remit of other committees. It generally supports the two associations in complying with the laws and guidelines applicable to them.
Code of Conduct
The members of the NBI and the NGF Executive Committee are guided by the fundamental idea of the protection of victims and comply with the legal provisions. Their activities and conduct are based on fundamental ethical values such as honesty, fairness, transparency, appropriateness, decency, reliability and trust.
These behaviours are defined in the Code of Conduct. It is aimed at the members of the Executive Committee and third parties commissioned by the Executive Committee.
