It defines standards for European liability and compensation rules and serves as an ethical code of conduct for the handling of national and international claims. The principles set out in the charter are embedded\u00a0in current Swiss legislation.<\/p><p><strong>Dr. Martin Metzler<\/strong>, co-founder and former President of\u00a0NBI &amp; NGF and former Vice President of the Institute for European Traffic Law (IETL), was one of the main initiators of the Charter of Road Traffic Victims&#8217; Rights.
